Homemade apple chips, the perfect toddler snack really. Crispy and light they store well, are not sticky or wet, and kids just love them. The best part is, they are pretty cheap and easy to make, as one big apple will usually give you a whole tray of chips. I made my batch with Ida red apples and they turned out so pretty, with a bright ring of red skin on creamy white

Very few things can match the beauty of a perfectly ripe, in season strawberry. Every year the season seems shorter and I always wish I had more time to get strawberry preserves in jars. Luckily, strawberries freeze beautifully and there are so many ways to use the frozen or thawed strawberries.
